	PAREDES EN FUEGO: The 2010 IBA-Cacique Youth Art Show ON VIEW: November 18 – December 23, 2010 PAREDES EN FUEGO is an annual exhibition dedicated to showcasing voices of the young artists from the IBA-CaciqueYouth Learning Center. In this exhibition, works range from technology-based designs to fine art techniques, while exploring issues such as social awareness and personal identity. This show will further engage the participation of the artists in the curatorial process. 	Ruth Henry & Diego Torres: Cart-AJENA ON VIEW: July 15 – September 1, 2010 A mixture of candid photographs of Cartagena, Colombia scenes and modestly constructed collages, Cart-AJENA is a glimpse into the city’s dirty underbelly, revealing sights and sentiments not often experienced by the tourists who flock there. “Ajena” directly translates to “alien” or “foreign”, conjuring ideas of the seaside city as an unfamiliar place, one that is equally beautiful and cruel. 	Mario Rodriguez McCormick: Tierras de Santander ON VIEW: May 20 – June 30, 2010 Mario’s intricately created landscapes evoke rich imagery from his Colombian home. His clay works are formed by assembling tiles into grids to shape a single image that is often reflective of man-kinds relationship to Earth. 	Anne Weber: Somos Villa Victoria: PORTRAITS FROM PARCEL 19 ON VIEW: April 29 – May 7, 2010 This exhibition celebrates the residents of Villa Victoria through a series of large-format portraits by Anne Weber. As a Lewis Hine Documentary Fellow, Anne has been working with IBA and the residents of Villa Victoria to depict the diverse stories of those who call this neighborhood home. This gallery exhibit serves as a preview of a larger work-in-progress. 	Agustin Patiño: Metrópolis y Orillas ON VIEW: March 11– April 21, 2010 Patiño’s impeccably crafted oil paintings reveal fantastic—almost surreal—scenes of extreme chaos and beauty. Imaginative and meticulous, his work features serene and exotic jungles littered with towers of cars and other unique and contrasting objects. 	Linda Hirsch: CUBA: Threads of Hope & Renewal ON VIEW: January 21 - February 28, 2010 This exhibition of photography by Linda Hirsch beautifully documents unique Jewish communities in Cuba. Over the course of several trips to the island, Hirsch immersed herself into the lives and homes of Cuba’s Jews, revealing rich traditions, cultural affectations and humble settings with stunning clarity and sincerity. Hirsch’s portrait of Cuba offers viewers the opportunity to reflect on their own ethnic heritage through images that appear both foreign and familiar.
